| As foundation, piling and drilling contractors, Avopiling Pty Ltd has undertaken numerous projects around Australia. These include bridge foundations for railway bridges, piling for multi-story complexes, bored piers for abutments and retaining walls on freeways including the M2 at Pennant Hills, widening of the Great Western Highway at Linden Bend and widening of the Western distributor in Sydney. we have undertaken major drilling works for Baulderstone Hornibrook Bilfinger Berger joint venture, constructing ventilation shafts, retaining walls for entrances and exits to and from tunnels and foundation piles for structures associated with the Cross City Tunnel linking Wooloomooloo to the Darling Harbour, Sydney.
One of the major projects carried out for the Rail Access Corporation was the construction of sub-soil drainage works at Coalcliff on the Illawarra line to prevent any major landslides. This consisted of construction of 23 wells, 900mm in diameter and approximately 26m deep and 5 Nos. man holes which included drilling of 2.5m diameter x 26m deep wells and installation of horizontal boring machine to drill through and connect vertical wells and man holes at a depth of 24m. This project was completed in 12 months and is now functional, draining all the excess water into the sea and stabilizing the area.
We have also completed various projects on the New Southern Railway for Transfield Bouygues Joint Venture including sheet piles at Green Square Station, bored piles for the ventilation structures at Mascot Station, large diameter bored piers and retaining walls for Woronora Bridge and bored piers for the residential redevelopment at Walsh Bay and Luna Park on Sydney Harbour.
Recent involvement and commitments to notable high profile projects such as cross City Tunnel, widening of Great Western Highway at Linden Bend, man handling shafts for Transgrid Cable Tunnel, Parramatta Rail link, Lunapark redevelopment, and Walsh Bay development impressed clients for its performance and professionalism.
Avopiling have successfully undertaken major drilling works on the Cross City Tunnel for ventilation shafts, retaining walls for entrances and exits to and from tunnels and foundation piles for structures associated with the tunnel. In its peak time Avopiling provided four piling rigs at a time all working within Sydney’s busiest city traffic conditions.
