DARLING PARK STAGE 3

The scope of Darling Park Stage 3 project encompassed the development of the third tower within the Darling Park Office precinct in Sydney’s Darling Harbour. This incorporated the construction of a new premium-grade, high rise commercial building for Lend Lease Development. The completed tower will consist of 4 basements levels, a ground floor lobby, 18 office floors and plant rooms above topped by a curved roof feature, and is scheduled to be completed by mid 2006.

Columns/Tower foundations designed on bored piles of 750mm, 900mm and 1200mm to a depth of 14-20m socketted into high strength sandstone. Situated in a tiny area surrounded by Sydney’s skyscrapers and busiest roads the piling works were requested to be completed within a shortest time possible along with other earth works sub Contractors.

Avopiling engaged two piling rigs and two service cranes in a tiny area and completed the project within schedule. Some of foundation piles were installed with CFA rig. Avopiling with its in-house production of drilling augers of different pitch and flight angles coupled with teeth and rock bits have successfully penetrated high strength sandstone rock and surprised the geotechnical and structural engineers of the project.
