LUNA PARK REDEVELOPMENT

The project comprised the construction of an approximately 60m x 34m, six storey underground car park to be located in the southeast corner of the site together with a foreshore café, with a single level basement occupying approximately half of the foreshore café footprint to be constructed to the west of the proposed car park.

Retaining wall for car park excavation required a secant pile wall, with 600mm dia. piles placed @500mm cc, and soldier pile walls with 600mm dia. piles installed with steel columns for future timber lagging.

Foundation piles for café area encountered various old concrete footings which were either removed or penetrated through. Foundation piles were constructed from the existing ground level much higher than the design pile cut off level.
