Bored Piles

The project is the construction of a 25-storey mixed-use development for Crown Central Development. The proposed Metrowest Rail link shall cut through the southeast corner of the building and the construction of the foundation piles in these zones are to follow the Transport of NSW requirements.

Scope of Works

The project involved construction of 12 bored piers 1000mmØ with permanent casings drilled into medium to high strength sandstone. Bored piles were cast into a 1200mmØ bored hole in anticipation of a 10 mm ground movement due to the future CBD rail link. Avopiling was awarded the contract by Mainland Civil. One unique step was to crane the drilling rig into the deep excavation and commence drilling from basement 3 level.
