Cased CFA Piles
Cased CFA piles provide a controlled foundation solution in unstable or water-bearing ground conditions. By combining casing advancement with continuous flight auger drilling, this system delivers low-vibration installation with excellent ground control for both foundations and retaining structures.
Application
Cased CFA piles use a double rotary head system that advances steel casing while drilling a hollow-stem auger. This allows the pile to be constructed with excellent control in unstable or water-bearing soils. Once the target depth is reached, sand-cement grout or specialised concrete is pumped through the auger as it is extracted, eliminating the need for temporary casing. The system is suitable for most soil types and can penetrate certain rock layers using Avopiling’s custom-designed tooling. Cased CFA piles are commonly used for foundations and embedded retaining walls such as contiguous and secant piled walls.
Advantages
- Low noise and vibration
- Effective in non-cohesive and water-bearing soils
- Cost-effective installation
- Minimal site preparation
- Suitable for tension loads
- Applicable across most ground conditions
- Spoil contained during concreting
