Bored Piles

The project Cooroy to Curragh Stage C and D are two sections of the project that involves a 62km realignment and upgrade of the Bruce Highway to 4 lanes between Cooroy and Curra. The Section C delivered a new 4-lane divided highway between the new section of the 10km highway between Traveston and Woondum, and Section D – Package 2 is the upgrade of the final section of Bruce Highway delivering a new 18km, 4-lane divided highway between Sandy Creek Road and Curra.

Scope of Works

Avopiling QLD is contracted to built bored foundation Section C – 7 bridges (commenced June 2016, completed December 2016), Total piles - 132 nos x 1200mm diameter (permanent liners), Depths up to 18m. Section D- 12 Bridges (commenced November 2021, completed March 2023), Total piles- 170 nos (permanent liners) 1050mm dia piles:- 04 nos 1200mm dia piles- 116nos 1350mm dia piles- 06 nos 1500mm dia piles- 28nos 1800mm dia piles:- 16nos Pile length/depth -up to 26.0m
